Let’s get right to it!
YOU ARE INVITED to my comeback party and opening reception this Sunday August 24 10am-noon at Adams Square Mini Park 1020E. Palmer Avenue Glendale, CA 91205 for the Los Angeles debut of my largest art piece to date: “of Wave and Stones.”
Made from 4,000 yards of bridal tulle, this 35-foot-long rising wave pays homage to the quiet determination and resilience of refugees and immigrants who brave the waves to seek new homes. It was first commissioned by the Asian American Women Artists Association on the eve of their 35th birthday as the symbol to a different kind of power: one that can be found within ourselves and with our community.
The piece is now on view at Adams Square Mini Park until September 28 2025. It's also been getting some press, like this article in Fine Home and Living magazine. Big thanks to the City of Glendale's Arts and Culture Commission, the Glendale Library Arts and Culture, the Glendale Community Services and Parks, and the Adams Hill Neighborhood Association for the opportunity to get back out there with a splash!
Please join me for the public opening reception taking place at the park Sunday morning Aug 24 10am-Noon. During the reception, the station will be open for the public to experience the wave and engage in a community art activity on personal and collective resilience. All ages are welcome, and materials are provided.
Feel free to invite family and friends. I'd love to catch up as we dive into this crazy new world on the back of a wave together!
